Team Texas is home to two state of the art training centers, making DFW a hub for climbing training! The Carrollton Training Center is a 8900 square-foot space that features bouldering terrain, spray walls, and a small workout area — all designed with athletes in mind. The Plano Training Center is located in the parking lot of Movement Plano, featuring 2000 square-feet of slab/vertical bouldering terrain and an overhung spray wall.

Both training centers are utilized for Team Texas practices and are generally closed to the public. If you’re interested in booking a session for your group or team, please contact us! We also host open houses, workshops, and peak performance team at the training centers – check out upcoming events below!

  • carrollton training center

The Carrollton facility started out as one of the first climbing gyms in DFW. It’s where Team Texas started, and we’re stoked to continue the legacy in the exact same place today. Carrollton closed its doors to the public in 2019 and now operates as a training center for our Team Texas athletes.

We’re proud to now be able to offer our youth athletes a space of their own to focus on the Elite training they need to develop as competitors in this fast-growing sport!

Find us at 2389 Midway Road, Carrollton, TX 75006.

    • 20-30 boulders, all containing 4-point starts, zone, finish holds, and red/black tape when necessary.
    • Campus rungs + hang boards
    • Boulders in the TC are not graded on the standard V-point scale. Rather, we use colored tape to indicate the level of the climb and the suitable audience based on size (for those familiar, this is known as the circuit system). There will always be an assortment of boulders for small youth climbers!

what makes the training centers unique?

  • routesetting

One of the amazing things about the Training Centers is the route setting offered! Our setters are not constrained by commercial setting requirements which allows the setting team to customize the experience for the users and experiment with new styles, concepts, and ideas.

  • hold selection

The Training Centers offer a diverse and high-quality assortment of holds and volumes. We believe that hold selection is an important part of training and comp preparation. We choose holds from brands that are USAC and IFSC official sponsors so that athletes are prepared to come in contact with them at events.
