VALHALLA | ASSISTANT CAMP DIRECTOR

Job Responsibilities:

  • Building enrollment prior to camp sessions: may include attending events, sending emails or calling families
  • Preparing camp, working full-time onsite with kids and maintaining administrative sides of camp
  • Running daily operations, developing relationships with our program partners and ensuring an awesome program appropriate to our camper population
  • Working with kids 6 – 15 years old
  • Facilitating games, teaching children to tie knots and belay, getting children psyched with climbing and adventuring inside and out
  • Several days will be spent outside climbing and adventuring, in addition to two indoor days playing games and learning about climbing

Qualifications

  • Experience + enthusiasm for working with children
  • Experience in a leadership role or eagerness to develop leadership skills
  • Availability for the full summer and ready to be outside!
  • Flexible, trustworthy, creative and positive
  • Work well in teams
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Experience with outdoor climbing or other outdoor activities
  • Able to problem solve and make decisions
  • Complete and clear a criminal background check

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching climbing and/or outdoor skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Rock Gym Pro
  • Belay certified
  • First aid/CPR certified

VALHALLA | GENERAL STAFF
