A Climbing Community as Warm as a 70-Degree December day

It’s been a great year for us and we hope it’s been the same for you! Our climbing community has grown more than ever with a dozens of new staff, countless new members and friends, and the brand new DUMBO Boulders opening up in the spring! We have a lot to be thankful for, and number one on the list is you guys.

Our annual holiday parties at both our Valhalla and LIC locations are a chance for us to celebrate the incredibly warm and inviting community that we have. It’s a magical environment where Sexy Batch cookies are an essential sending supplement, the playlist ranges from Backstreet Boys to Metallica, and everyone’s cool with being beat by a tiny 14-year-old Japanese prodigy.

Last Wednesday and Thursday, shenanigans were the name of the game. A dyno tree filled up the lead cave at Valhalla, while Big Bub lifting competitions, crate stacking, and new Dry Ice Tool routes were littered around LIC. Food and drink kept everyone satiated, especially baby Gavin, who was at peak levels of adorableness.

The dud of the night was definitely the Ugly Sweater Contest, which inspired almost no participants (despite awesome prizes!) at either location. We've learned our lesson, never again. We'll stick to #TheCliffsTee from now on.
